This delightful mid-terraced cottage is situated on the tree-lined wide main street main street in the centre of Long Melford and offers comfortable and well-equipped accommodation including two bedrooms and a sitting room with dining area. There is a generously sized courtyard garden with a table and chairs to the rear of Hawthorne Cottage, a lovely spot to return to after a long day’s sight seeing. The shops, pubs, eateries and visitor attractions of the village can all be reached easily on foot, and the villages and towns of the rest of Suffolk are all located within reach of the cottage.

Full gas central heating, electric coal-effect fire in sitting room. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, colour TV, radio/CD player, small library of books. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Highchair available. Off road parking approx 10 yards from cottage. Courtyard garden with furniture. One small well behaved dog welcome at £10 per week. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 2 mins walk, pubs and restaurants 5 mins walk. Note: This cottage is on the main village street; there may be some road noise but the property is double glazed. Note: Stairs have a sharp turn and some varying tread sizes - care should be taken. |

This beautiful county is situated to the south of Norfolk, with Cambridgeshire to the west, Essex to the south, and the North Sea to the east. It has much to offer the visitor, including the wetlands of the Broads, the Wool Towns, and a coastal strip to the east known as “The Sandlings”. There are over 5000km of marked paths as well as national cycle routes, along with country parks, nature reserves such as the Trimley Marshes, and picnic sites.
Suffolk’s notable towns include Ipswich (the county town), Felixstowe, Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket.
West Suffolk is famed for its archaeological discoveries, especially that at Sutton Hoo in 1939. A grassy mound was found to be a ship burial ground containing a collection of Anglo-Saxon treasures, including a Sword of State, a shield, a helmet, gold and silver bowls, jewellery and a lyre. The site is now owned by the National Trust.
